Apologies, fellow readers! For once complicated life has got in the way of my reading this week so I haven’t been able to finish my current book.

There are over a hundred pages left and if I skipped through them I suppose I could reach the end. But… how is that an enjoyable, immersive experience? I read to blot out my worries and fear. To escape from my bedroom, where I spend most of my time, into other places. To meet interesting characters in intriguing situations. To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilisations, to boldly go where….

Humph, got a bit carried away there… trekking amongst the stars where no woman has gone before!
