This post is part of a series called Scarf of the Moment. I decided to write detailed profiles for each of the Hermès scarves in my collection, starting back in 2017. I now have a lovely selection of silk twill 90cm scarves, the smaller 70cm and 45cm, plus a few large cashmere/silk shawls and two little twillies. In these profiles I try to list all of the colourways with their purchase codes to help other scarfies. Some of my older posts are less detailed as the format for writing them has evolved over the years.

Earlier in the year, I decided that my collection was large enough and that the Hermès prices had risen too far for me to add more scarves. However, the scarf love is very hard to shake off and when I saw the new Alice Shirley design for Autumn/Winter 2026, I simply couldn’t resist! So here is the Scarf of the Moment post for Rewilding Nature. The scarf is a 90cm silk twill, the Hermès purchasing code is H004297S 02 and the colours are Bleu / Mauve / Vert / Multicolore.

Description

On my first viewing of the whole scarf, I could see a riot of plants, animals, birds and insects in multiple colours. The design is dominated by a tree in full Spring blossom in an array of pinks. The centre of the scarf shows birds in flight and each corner depicts a different landscape restored to its natural rhythm, completely free from human intervention: a forest, a coastline, a heathland, and a freshwater glade, each facing outwards, which really helps when trying to tie the scarf! I think that the flora and fauna are from across European habitats showing forests and woodland, lakes and streams, plus hedgerows and their associated animals and birds. I could probably spend hours examining the different species, but I must admit that my favourite is an owl amongst the tree’s branches!

The colours used are many with a range of blues, greens, pinks and browns and a pale olive green rolled hem. I will be able to wear the scarf with so many items in my wardrobe over the next few weeks and months.

Rewilding Nature, Alice Shirley

Passionate about natural history, Alice Shirley has a profound understanding of ecosystem dynamics. How I wear the scarf

This is such a wonderful design and I love this colourway. We have only just reached the scarf wearing season so I have not worn it yet. I will add some images with my outfits as soon as I can.

Scarf ties

I have tried on this scarf in a variety of ways. At the moment, as it is so new, the silk fabric is still crisp so doesn’t fall easily into soft folds. Anyway, you can get the general idea of how it looks when worn. As you can see, each corner has beautiful details and I have tied the scarf to show these.
