Update 03/01/19 with Christmas presents #01

Now that I have had a bit of a break from the blog, I would like to show you some of the gifts I received for Christmas.

Lovely Husband is happy for me to choose my own present each year and this time I went back to a company that I have used before. The Grand Tour Collection (link in the sidebar) is located in Rome and produces jewellery based on ancient Classical sculptures with a modern twist. You may remember the absolutely gorgeous bracelet that I ordered from them a while back.

This time I went for earrings in a lovely violet colour with the head of Medusa! The colour blends perfectly with my Marks and Spencer cashmere V-neck, Hermès Jaguar Quetzal scarf and my Massaccesi Victoria handbag in amethyst leather, amongst other items in my wardrobe. This is why I love to choose my own presents, where appropriate, as I can make sure that everything matches.

My sons chose their own gifts, with a few tiny hints from me, and selected such lovely items – I was thrilled by their thought and care. Elder Son gave me some much needed pyjamas with a snowflake design and a gorgeous and very bling snowflake brooch. My present from Younger Son was a beautiful Swarovski necklace and earrings set with red crystals. He told me that he chose the red because he is living in Wales.

Here I am on Christmas Day, wearing the above gifts from my sons!

Trying to keep a brave face at Christmas

Trying to keep a brave face at Christmas

Christmas was a very difficult time for me as I had a huge mental relapse and spent three days in bed. I am so fortunate that my “lads” were so kind and supportive and also pulled together to make the festival as enjoyable as they could for all of us. I am now considering whether I need to have more counselling to deal with my high stress levels and anxiety attacks. I found a great counsellor back in 2014, who helped me to come to terms with disabling grief, impending early retirement and chronic illness and I may contact him again and see if he is available.

Tomorrow’s post will show you a couple of items that I gave myself for Christmas.

Best wishes,

💜❤️💚💛💙
