Welcome to my blog, dear visitors and friends. At the moment, my Friday posts are following our family’s journey through the torturous English house selling system! Since the end of January this year, when we found the lovely bungalow that we now occupy, I have been attempting to chronicle the steps we are taking until we reach our final goal: buying and moving into our new home, then tidying and cleaning up our old home, putting it on the market and then selling it!

Well, I have some good news this week! We have had an offer on the house, which we have accepted and are now in the throws of going through all of the stages until completion! Hooray!

I won’t be able to fully relax until our buyers have had their survey done, their solicitor has all of the searches in place, the removers have been booked and the proceeds are safely in our bank account!

This week, I had an appointment at the dentist and was planning to go into town with Elder Son to run a few errands. We were also going to have a nice lunch together. Unfortunately, my health issues, both physical and mental, got in the way again. One afternoon, I became very unwell and Lovely Husband had to ring for help. Fortunately, we were able to get some more medication and this has given me a little positive support since. In addition, I have now apparently reached the head of the queue for counselling on the NHS. A lovely mental health nurse rang this week to arrange a home visit later in the month. I just have to cling on to the hope that this will help me.

I had planned a nice outfit for the postponed trip into town: a navy Lands’ End twinset, jeans, navy boots and an Hermès scarf together with the Massaccesi handbag shown below…

Oh well, perhaps another day!
