I am feeling pleased because I managed to go to my hospital appointment this morning. Due to illness, I have missed the last two, so I really needed to talk to my doctor. Unfortunately, he was not available, but his Registrar was excellent. I am going to have some new blood tests to determine why I struggle so much with nausea and vomiting in the morning. One thing I am upset about is my huge weight gain. I am not going to admit what I now weigh, as I am mortified, but I really am devastated. I knew that many of my newer clothes were getting tight quite quickly and that I was having to buy larger sizes, but the actual stark number of stones and pounds just threw me.
My health in general is getting a lot worse. Just the walk from the car park into the hospital made me wheeze and I had to sit down in the entrance. Even my shower before we set off made me feel weak and ill and I had to rest in bed for ten minutes before I could get ready. The doctor couldn’t really suggest anything new as I am now on all of the available medications at the correct doses. I cannot be taken on for any trial drugs because I have too many different conditions. I suppose that I have to hope that something new comes on the market sooner rather than later.
Despite all of this, Lovely Husband and I were able to find some humour in our hospital visit. There was a newly installed TV screen in the waiting area showing the RAF 100 year anniversary celebrations, with subtitles. We were all very amused to see “The Queen’s rival” (arrival), talk of “the RAF enzyme” (ensign) and the choir singing the “him” (hymn) amongst other mistakes!
This is today’s outfit:
- Purple sapphire cotton vest – Lands’ End.
- Beige cotton chinos – Lands’ End.
- Amethyst and silver earrings – Blue Nile.
- Purple lacquer and horn pendant – Quecraft via Etsy.
- Lilac enamel and gold plain bangle – Halcyon Days.
- Purple enamel and gold Salamander bangle – Halcyon Days.
Yes, this is the same vest that I wore yesterday with navy. As I only had it on for an hour or so, it was fine for today with beige trousers, tan sandals and a change of jewellery. I also tucked my hair behind my ears for a slight change of style.
Now I will get back to my latest book in readiness for the Reading Roundup post tomorrow.
