This week has been very tough so far, for a number of reasons. On Saturday evening I came down with a bug of some kind, on top of my usual long list of conditions. I felt really ill all night and could hardly sleep at all. The after effects of this lasted for a few days. In addition, Elder Son decided to exercise part of his autism by muck spreading (I have explained this term before. He feels anxious and angry and decides to spread his bad feelings to the rest of us). The effects of this on the whole family are really traumatic. I felt that I was on the edge of a precipice, mentally.
The main thing affecting my mood, though, is the fact that on Sunday Younger Son is moving out after four years back at home since finishing Uni. He has been unable to get a career started in this small town and has decided to go and share a house with a friend in Wales. I really want him to succeed in life and by that I mean achieve whatever he needs to be happy, support himself and feel fulfilled. This doesn’t mean a highly paid professional position, in my eyes, just something that will bring him satisfaction and the ability to earn enough to support himself and, perhaps, a family one day. It would also be nice to see him using his intelligence, extensive science knowledge and skills in some positive way.
I will miss him so much and am trying really hard to stop myself collapsing in tears this week. We have always got on really well and are on a similar wavelength in so many things. I have always loved listening to his ideas since he was very small and have been fascinated to watch his highly intelligent mind developing from his toddler years until now, when he is in his mid-twenties. He has been worried about leaving us, but I have told him that we will manage and that we support him in this new phase of his life. In the best soap opera fashion, he needs a “fresh start”!
Anyway, yesterday brought a bit of an improvement. Lovely Husband took me out for a short while, so I was able to test my new Duo boots in navy suede. I think they look great with jeans and I may also wear them with thick tights and my navy merino wool dress when the weather is cooler. So, my Outfit of the Day was really yesterday’s as I have been unable to get out of bed today. Never mind…

Outfit of the day 13/09/18 with Hermès’ De la Mer au Ciel scarf
Yesterday’s outfit:
- Cobalt blue cotton mix top – Lands’ End.
- Indigo jeans – Klass.
- Navy suede ankle boots – Duo Boots.
- Gold knot earrings.
- Cobalt blue enamel and gold Curb Chain bangle – Halcyon Days.
- Silk scarf, 90cm, in blue, white, purple and orange – De la Mer au Ciel – Hermès.
I love all of these blue shades together. The outfit was finished with my gorgeous Massaccesi midi-zip Selene handbag in dark blue Africa leather, which has a metallic sheen. Here is a reminder…
