Friday post 24/07/26: With a lovely visit!

For once I have some nice news to write about: last weekend Younger Son came to visit us! It was so lovely to spend time with him and all four of us went out for a meal at a local pub. Lovely Husband hadn’t been able to leave the house for anything other than a medical appointment since last Christmas, so it was very special for him.

I took the opportunity to wear my new top from Hobbs with a navy linen skirt, bronze sandals and my white Massaccesi handbag. Here is a quick photo…

As I was walking across the pub car park, I began to notice that the gravel was sticking to the soles of my sandals. When I was able to examine the sandals properly, I realised that the soles were perishing and crumbling away. Now, I haven’t worn the sandals very often and know that I have had them for many years, but I am really disappointed. I don’t think that they can be repaired. The leather parts look brand new, but the soles are cracked and crumbling away. So annoying!

Anyway, I then had a look online for some new metallic leather sandals. My old crumbling ones were quite elegant and pretty and I couldn’t find new ones with a similar vibe, but I eventually bought these ones from Hotter

I hope these last longer than my old ones!

Happy weekend everyone!

Love and best wishes,

Anne
